In these uncertain times, what is it that we hold dear? Is it money or health? Is it food on the table or money to pay the rent? What about the stability of our future and the well-being of our loved ones? Questions like these are plaguing everyone nowadays.
While many of us may still be assured of these basic necessities, not everyone in our society is that fortunate to have the life or means that provides them with their needs. And we should be aware, not only of the needs of our own families, but also of others in our society.
That is why, as a family-oriented company and a large “family” in our own regard, PropNex is proud to once again support the admirable efforts of the National Institute of Education’s initiative: Group Endeavors in Service Learning (GESL).
This time around, one of their groups called OASIS has embarked on a collaborative project with the Spastic Children’s Association of Singapore (SCAS) to promote and cultivate the spirit of service learning which, according to the organisers, is a form of experiential education. This project, involving children with cerebral palsy, is conducted with students from SCAS over two interactive workshops.
The day-long programme includes a trip to the Singapore Zoological Gardens on 8 November 2008.
Aside from SCAS, this project also aims to involve students from the mainstream secondary schools to serve as volunteers which will further promote social awareness amongst the younger population, by showing them how they too can contribute to the community.
PropNex fully supports this great and meaningful endeavor and believes in its continuity as a powerful tool in further enhancing and enriching the lives of the less privileged individuals in our society.
