In April 2015, developers sold 1,124 private homes, an 83 per cent increase from the 613 units taken up in the previous month. Also, 1,344 units were launched for sale last month, representing a 236 per cent jump from March (excluding ECs). The combination of more new units launched for sale and reasonable prices in the increasingly price sensitive market; together drew bargain-hunting homebuyers back to show flats. April’s sales also indicated that underlying demand is present if prices are attractive, despite the relatively weak buying sentiment.
