PropNex Promotes Professionalism By Terminating Inactive Agents

PropNex will be amicably terminating about 2800 of its housing agents in a move to ensure the professionalism and reliability of its associates. The termination notices will be mailed out to all affected agents today.

This is a bold move in an industry that is largely unregulated and which has seen some dubious publicity of late. But PropNex believes in maintaining stringent service standards so as to fulfill the company's first of seven beliefs: our responsibilty to our customers.

"The reason for this amicable termination exercise," says Mohd Ismail, CEO of PropNex, "is that many of our associates who are inactive may no longer be familiar with the current property market trends or latest policies. If that is the case, then they would hardly be able to best serve the customers' interests."

Earlier this month, agents who had been with PropNex for over a year but who had failed to submit a single transaction were cautioned that they faced amicable termination. However, these agents could choose to remain as PropNex agents by signing up for Professional Indemnity Insurance as well as a refresher course.

"We at PropNex are moving towards a new direction of delivering trustworthy service," adds Adam Tan, Corporate Communications & Marketing Manager of PropNex. "We will soon be launching a series of initiatives to promote and emphasise professionalism in our service delivery. It is imperative, therefore, that our associates, our frontline contacts with the customer, live up to this standard."

PropNex is no stranger to self-policing its associates. We have, in the past, reported our rogue agents to the police, brought them to court and placed a notice in the papers to inform and warn the public of such individuals.

"At the end of the day," says Ismail, "it is about adding value to our customers' lives by delivering service and professionalism that they can trust."
